"I've only ever come across a couple of Sinatra tribute acts that are half decent. They usually either have a slight resemblance or sound like him on a bad day. I've only ever come across one Sinatra tribute act that actually sounds like the man himself and that sir is you."

Frank Sinatra sang a beautiful song called "It Was A Very Good Year". The first line of that song goes: “When I was seventeen, it was a very good year”. Now in actual fact, the first time I heard a Frank Sinatra record, I was 14 years of age. My parents had a wonderful Grundig radiogram and they had 78 rpm records! The first song I remember hearing was the Rogers and Hart song "The Lady Is A Tramp".
I simply could not understand why this made me feel so excited until I started to listen to more Sinatra and more jazz and swing music. I knew there and then that at some point, I just had to learn to sing this stuff! I was drawn to this music and this wonderful energy like a magnet. I also intuitively knew that I could not be 21 or 22 years of age and sing "My Way", so a certain maturity was required.
After many years of research, homework, learning songs ... I booked the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow and hired a full 16-piece big Swing Band and arranged a concert. The band leader had asked me: "Have you ever sung with a Big Band before?" and I instinctively answered: "Absolutely – all the time!" In fact, I had never sung with a Big Band in my whole life ... But what I did have in my favour was the fact that I had been to see Mr Sinatra live on three separate occasions; I had done my homework, my research; studied the arrangements and orchestrations, and I was ready to go. I had one rehearsal and then we arrived at the Theatre and I performed live for two 45-minute sets of big band/swing/Sinatra songs.
I now have been providing my 5-star Sinatra Entertainment for weddings, corporate events and private parties and I am most proud to be followed on Twitter by Nancy Sinatra – isn’t that a thing! I only intend to be alive until I’m 122 years of age, so please book early!
